TomatoCMS

Ladies and Gentleman, the moment you have all been waiting for – a new CMS to come into your life and confuse the shit out of you – TomatoCMS. Just when you thought there were enough CMS’ out there to choose from, a new one pops out and says “Hello World.”

All kidding aside, I’m actually quite intrigued by TomatoCMS. Now, I haven’t tested it out yet, but this CMS does sound promising. I know there are better ones out there that you might know about (Drupal), but you should still give this one a try. And here’s why.

Features & Benefits

  • Built using the Zend framework (this is a BIG plus for me) which means you have a solid foundation you can trust.
  • Modules/Plugins are available so that it can be extended – you’re not stuck with vanilla, when you might want some chocolate.
  • Multi-language support. This is great – now you can stop discriminating and allow everyone the ability to read what you have to say.
  • Comes with jQuery. That’s all I’m going to say. Well, no, I’ll add this: Prototype JS blows.

How to get it?

Go to the website. It’s been running slow for me so please be patient.

    Hi Michael,
Did you ever get around to installing TomatoCMS and trying it. If so a follow up post would be most welcome. Right now there Demo isn’t working so I can’t try it.

@Neville Franks, I apologize, I downloaded TomatoCMS but never got around to uploading it. I’ve been busy writing some software that I’m going to offer soon.

The reason I liked TomatoCMS is that it is written using the Zend framework. Which is my second favorite framework to work with after Drupal. Honestly, I watch software for about a year or two, just to make sure it’s ready for professional usage. I’m not about to risk a client with something that hasn’t been thoroughly tested.

What I’ll do is this, I’ll give it a week and then I’ll blog about my experience.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Yes yes. ZF powered CMS i have been waiting for. In Drupal i really miss OO approach, so our next client will probobly have their site powered by Tomato CMS.

Cant wait to dig in ;)
